Perhaps the most historical x-men animated series episode, this one has all. All that lacked at the old itineration and all the new stuff around lately is right inside the core of this episode.
It has granted the emmy for best animated series for them.
I can bet as big as gambit for this one.
Simply marvelous, dramatic, cruel, brutal and yet light hearted. This is an incredible and definite shot to more mature audiences.
There's more than simple symbolism in this one.
I am astonished this moment for how far they got here, deepening relations, showing expected (or not so expected) moments, there's mystery, brutality, almost impossible fights and unexpected heroic moments.
Outstanding script and very much inspired.
It is certainly their best ep yet.

I was already deeply impressed with the way the show handled the complicated love triangle relationships of Cyclops-Madelyn-Jean-Wolverine, and Gambit-Rogue-Magneto, to the point where I could actually feel the ache shown by Wolverine and Gambit in their scenes.
Then the episode throws us a emotional heavy curveball that blew me away. Powerful, emotionally charged scene, one after another. This episode is reminiscent of Avengers: Infinity War, but it does what that movie could not do for me: capture the raw emotion and high stakes.
I'm so glad X-Men 97 isn't just a capitalisation on nostalgia, but actually an incredibly well written series.
Side note though: This episode makes it clear that this series isn't quite meant for the kids!

It was one of the most impressive cartoon episodes of any show I have ever seen. Not since EndGame did any piece of Marvel entertainment pull at your heart strings so intensely. Wow just wow! I am literally in a daze of amazement with how good this new show is. Incredible character development, great cinematography, it looks like the old show but is new and fresh and is updated.
I use to watch this show as a kid and wasn't sure if this was going to be any good, quite a few marvel productions haven't been very good as of late, yet this show keeps knocking it out of the park. If they do anymore live action X-Men films, these writers, directors and producers need to be involved for sure.

Perfect episode. So dark, so unfair. So good! I bet everyone will remember it for years to come. Heartbreaking.
You'd think that the X-Men finally had some good news their way, but not this time. I don't want to give any spoilers away, but I think Gambit has one of the best moments ever displayed in this episode.
The group is split in two, part of it goes to Genosha, the rest stayed at the mansion. You have somewhat 2 parallel stories going on here. Lots and lots of cameos, and lots of great moments.
Can't wait to see what's next. Too bad we have to wait 1 week. Will definitely rewatch this.

Hard to explain the mix of feelings I have after watching this episode, I am super happy for the oportunity to see a masterpiece but also sad for all that happened. This is really what you expect after seen a great animated series, touch of you heart and mix of emotions. Similar feeling of when I used to watch Game of Thrones and what you used to expect for a season finale, the animation, the music, the plot and everything was top, 10 of 10 for sure, best of old series and new animation. Thanks MCU to give us the opportunity to enjoy Xmen in their full potential. I can't not wait for what's coming in next episodes!!!
