I honestly can't believe this is how The Last of Us Season 2 ends. After a first season that hit hard, emotionally and narratively, this finale left me with just one thing: disappointment.

There's no tension, no heart, no soul. Just a sequence of scenes that feel hollow, cold, and meaningless. Characters I once cared deeply about now feel like lifeless puppets moving without purpose. Everything seemed to be building toward... what, exactly? A flat, emotionless ending that leaves nothing behind.

The writing feels lazy. It's like they went out of their way to avoid emotional impact. Big moments fall completely flat. It's all so... dull. There's no weight, no lasting impression.

I'm giving it a 5 only out of respect for the technical quality and the few performances that still tried to carry something real. But truthfully, this season gave me nothing. No chills. No tears. Nothing worth remembering.

The only exception? Episode two. Beautifully done, powerful, the one time I actually felt something.

Too bad the rest sank into mediocrity.

The show has become playing a video game with only the cut scenes. It is a rushed, unimaginative, and disappointing excuse for TV. The acting is subpar, the dialogue is uninspiring, and the situations they end up in and get out of are not believable. Not a single episode will leave you waiting until next week because nothing happened and nothing is going to happen. This season may have taken a hopeful favorite show from you, but it also takes away the pain of waiting years for another season. The finale which should spend every second of air time preciously shocks you with how willing they are to prove they cannot write a show.

I expected a lot more to this season finale, and while I hate to mention other shows in my review, this season feels similiar to Squid Game S2 where you end in the middle rather than leaving it with a cliffhanger, but unlike Squid Game S2, TLOU's second season didn't give me anything where I wanted to scream "WHERE IS THE THIRD SEASON?" even though I know what's coming, and I really want to see that part being adapted.

My problem with the Season despite having up and downs is that that the creators are so lost. They are rushing, yet again, trying to adapt as many stuff as they can, being two episode short with S2 was a bad decision, atleast one more could've been good, but after watching the finale, I realised that they barely have a story for this finale.

Sometimes they want to adapt the game word for word, sometimes they want to adapt it so they are uncomperable, and these two mindsets just doesn't work, they understood how big is Part 2, that's why they sliced it up to 2 seasons more, but the way I see it, is that it felt short. It felt like an anthology, rather than a consecutive plot that tries to reach a conclusion.

All right y'all let's get to business here. This show is so boring. The plot doesn't feel like it has any guiding force, but it feels like the characters just need to do a checklist of things. It really feels like the plot is making itself up as it goes along and the entire entirety of the show is just trying to get characters from place A to place B. While this might work for a video game, this is so unbelievably boring to watch like I was not even enjoying watching any of this. And the idea that Abby's character gets an entire season potentially to herself in season three is just laughable at best who is even gonna watch this show in the next season? Im feeling silly for even watching it now!

It felt way too rushed. Stuff just kept happening one after another with barely any time to process any of it, and the ending didn't really hit at all. There were a lot of big moments that should've had more impact, but they didn't land because everything moved so fast.

If I hadn't played the games, I honestly don't think I would've understood half of what was going on. It felt like the show was relying on people already knowing the lore instead of making it accessible to new viewers.

That said, Isabela Merced did a really solid job. And visually, the show looked great. The set design, effects, and overall aesthetic were really impressive. You can tell a lot of effort went into making it look good.
