In this episode, we see a side of Mark that makes us understand that he's not just a tough guy; he has feelings, the guilt he feels for not having come up with a better plan. It shows a human and fragile side to this man who apparently doesn't care about anything. It shows us that Mark cares about what happens to his team, that even though he doesn't care what happens to himself, he wants to keep his team safe, he wants to resolve the situation, he has a pressing need to save someone because he can't save himself.
The show is getting more and more intense, and you're increasingly eager to watch the next episode.
When the episode ends, for a moment, you're left thinking, 'No, already?' You wish it could last a few hours.

Jensen Ackles delivers exactly what we came for - grit, charisma, and that signature smolder that could stop a clock (or start a war). Countdown blends high-stakes action with just enough emotional tension to keep you locked in, and Ackles commands every scene like he was born for this role. Whether he's interrogating suspects or throwing punches in the dark, you believe him - because he is that guy.
The pacing is tight, the writing has bite, and the supporting cast holds their own, but make no mistake: this is Jensen's show. If you're into suspense, action, and morally complex men in tactical gear - Countdown is your new obsession. Buckle up and hit play.

Ep 4 keeps the adrenaline pumping but doesn't quite shake off its familiar funk. Jensen Ackles as maverick copper Mark Meachum is still the show's lifeblood, dishing out charm and grit as the task force chases a deeper thread in the murder conspiracy.
The action's bang-on... a pulse-pounding rooftop chase and a tight-knit brawl in a dodgy safehouse are shot with real swagger. Jessica Camacho's Amber Oliveras brings fierce energy, and Eric Dane's Nathan Blythe cracks a rare smile, hinting at more layers.
But the script's still wobbling with naff one-liners and plot twists that feel pinched from a bog-standard crime flick. The team's chemistry is cracking but lacks the depth to really hook you emotionally.
Meachum's personal demons and Oliveras' stubborn streak tease juicier arcs, but the show's stuck recycling tired tropes. It's a cracking ride, just not a groundbreaking one. Still glued for the 13-episode run!
If you're after a quick thrill, Countdown delivers, even if it's a bit shallow. 7/10.
