It's a good start, some fun jokes, good characters, very watchable. This season will not put them among the greats, this can however also be said for the first season of the office.
I personally do not understand the Esmarelda hate. She is supposed to be annoying and unlikeable, and they definitely succeeded.

Wasn't bad! So far it feels like they're taking it a different direction from The Office. We'll see if that's a good move or not. This one seems a little more intentionally sentimental with a slow build, while The Office just plops in the middle of chaos. This largely felt like the beginning of Parks and Rec. The potential is there, but they need to figure out their roles. Domhnall Gleeson's character is interesting but feels a bit scattered between laughing at him and laughing with him. Mare is very likable and is the character drawing me in the most. Esmeralda needs to be figured out. She's over the top and in your face. She's not rooting against her, but you sure don't like her either. I enjoyed watching it, and I will keep watching with the hope that they get things together. I really think they might.
To quote The Beatles, it can't get much worse. I can see potential, but this episode isn't funny. I laughed a couple times in thirty two minutes.
This isn't to say the show doesn't have potential. The chemistry between Domhnall Gleeson and Chelsea Frei is great and Oscar's storyline is fun. The idea of a couple idiot employees and a smart boss is different, but the writing just isn't strong enough to make this a good pilot.
I'm baffled by NBC's decision to roll out the entire show on Peacock instead of airing it weekly on their network that badly needs a hit, but at least I can keep watching now if I decide to (probably will). Also, it was truly jarring to hear an uncensored F-bomb dropped (especially as I watched with my kids). I'm not easily offended, but it just felt unnecessary.
This ain't it, but maybe it'll get better. It must since they've already renewed it for a second season.

Not a terrible pilot, per se, but not exactly one I think will hook many people.
As someone who has seen four episodes now, the first episode is by far the worst so far - the others are actually pretty great.
I enjoyed the 1970s intercut clips and the cameo from Bob Vance, however.
Decent cast, too.

The jokes were very inconsistent in my opinion. Some were very funny and made me laugh audibly, but others just completely missed. Some characters are amazing but a few just feel like stereotypes or bland rips of other sitcom characters. There's a lot to work with here and this has the potential to become a very very good show with the right people working on it.

- TriviaAs Ned and Mare have their first conversation, a "Froggy 101" bumper sticker can be seen on a cabinet in the background. The same sticker was also displayed in the Dunder Mifflin office near Dwight's desk.
