I completely agree with cherlockhome's review below.
The drama isn't finished yet, but I'm not willing to watch the last few episodes.
Apart from the idiotic way the female lead was written and the constant loop holes, the drama is 90% cringe fest. It might had been better if the lead actress matched the professional level of the lead actor, but it's still unbearable at times.
All these "passionate" or "sensual" moments they want to pass to the audience are an absolute disaster, as the script is childish and the chemistry between the leads is super forced.
Unfortunately, it's a common theme in KDramas lately, which is an indication they've either lost their sparkle or I've just become too old to relate to the content.
It would help if they stopped making these dramas to showcase the actors' beauty and endorsements and started paying attention to what really matters. The script and acting.

This was one that I had some issues with, but overall I wanted to go the distance. I wasn't as put off by the last episode, & as there are only 12 it was a much more endurable experience.
Wow, how much more can these rich families be dysfunctional? The dark secrets just kept being exposed & I was genuinely surprised by some twists in the plot. The kidnapper/sociopath did a good job at portraying a sense of dread. He did seem to elude the police for far too long.
The ML, Yoo Yeon-seok, & the FL, Chae Soo-bin, had reasonable enough interaction to develop a sense of a relationship. I don't know how his wife was kept secret as he was a well known celebrity who would be easy to follow.
The love triangle really didn't develop with the psychiatrist. The secondary love interests was a bit of an afterthought.
Yes, the bit in Argan at the end was a bit too much, but as in a lot of K dramas there is a period of separation..

This was on par with other Korean dramas. Romance. Sweetness. Easy on the eyes. Enjoyable. Bingeable...right until the last few mins of episode 11. Then it all became full on nonsense!
Episode 12 was completely unnecessary.
So watch it. It's a nice series. But stop close to the end of episode 11. You'll know at which part. I won't spoil it for you.
After that it's really, really not worth your time.
Of course, as with a K-Dramas, don't expect things to make any logical sense even from the beginning. Just enjoy it for what it is. Lots of cute scenes and characters. Beautiful background score to make you feel the warm fuzzies. Haha.

Overall, I really enjoyed this series and was a little surprised to see some of the negative reviews about it. To be fair, I am an English-speaking person and only started getting into K-dramas last year, so I watched this entire series with closed captions. I liked the relationship between the main characters-yes, some parts were a little "cheesy," but overall, I thought their relationship was cute. I even found myself laughing at the villain, thinking, "When is this guy going to die? He has more than nine lives!"
The one part of the series I didn't like was the ending. The last episode felt almost like a completely different plot, and I'm not sure why the writers went in that direction. Honestly, the series could have ended at the 11th episode.
That said, I still found the series pretty entertaining overall. I encourage you to form your own opinion rather than being influenced by the negative comments.

At first, When the Phone Rings grabs your attention. The premise is intriguing, and the way the story unfolds in the beginning makes it hard to look away. The characters have great chemistry, and their interactions feel natural, which adds to the enjoyment. As the plot progresses, it builds up some good expectations, making you curious about how things will turn out.
But that's where the good things end.
The ending of this series is absolutely awful. It's not just bad-it's stupid and completely ridiculous! The way the story wraps up makes no sense, and it feels like the writers didn't even try to give us a satisfying conclusion. It's frustrating because the potential was there, but it's all wasted.
If you're thinking about watching this series, don't bother. Sure, the beginning is interesting, but the ending will leave you angry that you spent your time on it. Trust me, this is one of those shows you'll wish you skipped.
In short: Interesting start, good chemistry, terrible ending. Don't waste your time!
