Touzoku

One star may seem harsh but this is in the light of two important facts.

One: We're almost halfway through the entire story.

Two: We haven't had a single scene, let alone episode, with any actual stakes.

For the 8 episodes preceding this, we've been following Goku. This has been like following a level 100 character in a level 5 area. Nothing had provided any physical threat. This could have been easily remedied with some creative villain abilities or strategies but no, the heroes simply sauntered through every conflict. The only slight danger they've encountered so far was Goku falling asleep while on watch duty. The consequences of this were non-existent. It should have been cut from the episode.

Now we have the other heroes joining the fray. Vegeta and Piccolo are introduced to the Demon Realm. In another pointless scene they lose their ship and get it back in the span of about 4 minutes. Another inconsequential sequence that seems to only exist to pad the runtime.

This series needs to be put to bed. Toriyama (RIP) was never able to recapture the magic of Z and no one else even stands a chance (the DBS manga should be proof of that). Just go back and watch/read the good stuff. This show isn't worth your time.

The new majin buu is crazy this story keeps getting interesting because they are expanding on dragon ball z legacy of akira toriyama which is getting even more interesting with all these new characters , I wish it does gets connected to dragon ball super manga in the future so its not just a stand alone series. Its refreshing to see dragon ball with this new animation. I still dont understand though what they are building up of because I can tell its not just the majin buu fight. I hope we get to see how the story connects and after daima ends we get to see dragon ball super reanimated faithful to the manga.
