I've only watched the first two episodes of Newtopia, and I'm already obsessed! This zombie K-drama is not just thrilling but also unexpectedly hilarious, with fresh and unique scenes that I've never seen before. Every moment is unpredictable, making it even more exciting. And Jisoo? Her acting is truly on another level! She brings so much depth and emotion to her role, making every scene more captivating. Her performance is amazing-she completely disappears into the character. The story, visuals, and action are top-tier. I can't wait to see more! A must-watch! Like I cant wait lets gooo jisooo.

I watched it expecting a typical comedy K-drama, but wow... this show completely exceeded my expectations! I've been laughing nonstop-it's absolutely hilarious and turned my whole day around. The comedic timing, the witty dialogue, and the over-the-top yet perfectly executed humor had me hooked from the very first episode. The actor/actress's expressions were spot-on, making every scene even funnier.
Not only is it funny, but the storyline is surprisingly engaging, and the characters are so lovable and well-developed. The chemistry between the cast members makes every interaction feel natural and entertaining.
My favorite characters are the guy in the military and the girl that works in a company.
Newtopia is officially my new favorite show, and I'm counting down the days until next Friday's episode! If you're looking for something to lift your mood, this is it. Highly recommend! 😂😂💘

Now it's beginning to take shape! The zombie outbreak is starting to create a mess in the heart of the city.
What's intriguing was, in this one scene where there was a car accident, I found myself angry with how many people watch and film without giving any help. That's the society before they know they're in the middle of a zombie outbreak. How will these people act in even worst situation, the zombie attack itself?
I know it's a comedy genre but I can't help thinking about the real life situation that they actually portray and wrapped in this comedic presentation.
Will Youngjoo make it? Will she got betrayed? Or worse, will she go as far as betraying others in order to survive?
A heroin is not a heroin just because they survived. Some hero died doing what's tight. But as for me, I hope Youngjoo stay alive while being herself, a smart yet compassionate person.

Jaeyoon and Youngjoo, despite their deep affection for each other, face the usual issues of long-distance relationships-misunderstandings, communication breakdowns, and the frustrations of only connecting via sporadic phone calls and video chats. The ongoing zombie attacks create constant interruptions, making their moments of connection both hilarious and heartbreaking. Adding to the chaos is Jaeyoon's relationship with his fellow soldier, Ra In-ho, whose antics provide plenty of comic relief during the most intense moments.
Characters and Chemistry Jaeyoon, the tough and stoic soldier, contrasts wonderfully with Youngjoo, who is trying her best to stay optimistic despite the separation. Their chemistry is undeniable, with Jaeyoon's vulnerability shining through during their video calls or brief moments of contact. The series excels at showing their love, even as it's constantly put to the test by the chaos of their world.

I know Newtopia is supposed to be funny and fun, but it is anything but. Stupidity is not silly fun. I need to say that I grew up very familiar with Asian comedy tv/movies from Japan, Korea, HK, Thailand, and even India over the years; this ain't a culture shock for me. So I am fairly confident that I know what a good written and directed Asian comedy looks and feels like. From the first two episodes, this ain't it.
As a Jisoo's longtime stan, this show is also kinda pissing me off. I always thought a romantic comedy would be Jisoo's huge cup of tea, considering how funny she is as herself. Plus, it should be her redemption after what she went through with SnowDrop, how controversial it was, and how much she was criticized over her acting then. I think the writing for her character in SnowDrop was problematic (one-noted and frankly annoying even for a stan). Needless to say, I had high hopes for this show coming in. I'm very disappointed right now, with 6 episodes to go. I'll give it one more episode before I decide if I will give up on it completely.
I am praying that her upcoming movie (Omniscient Reader's) and her next TV series will give her a better role with witty and clever adult banters suitable for her age and status. And please don't make her cry again.
