This episode is a true gem that stands out for its emotional narrative and fast-paced action. Jin-Woo, our protagonist, finally completes the Elixir of Life and returns home to try to cure his sick mother. This scene is deeply moving and shows us a more human and vulnerable side of Jin-Woo, which adds a layer of depth to his already complex character. It is a truly emotional chapter that finally makes our protagonist see more human. The hospital scene really knows how to convey that feeling of being able to recover a sick loved one. Additionally, the intense preparation of the Hunters Association for the Jeju raid, and Go Gunhee's determination to recruit Jin-Woo, highlight the gravity of the situation. The combination of emotional storytelling and high-stakes action makes this episode unforgettable. The Hunter Association is preparing for the fourth raid on Jeju, a highly anticipated event that promises to bring challenges and epic battles. Go Gunhee's determination to recruit Jin-Woo underscores the importance of our protagonist and sets high expectations for future episodes. The raid on Jeju is one of the most anticipated arcs of the series, and this episode sets the stage for what promises to be a series of spectacular confrontations and defining moments.
The burden Jin-Woo has been carrying all this time...
Everything he's been doing for the last two seasons...
All the suffering, hard work, and sacrifices he's made...
All of it was for his mother.
Even after losing so many emotions and pushing forward no matter what, Everyone calling him characterless and edgy seeing his mother finally wake up-he can't stop it. It breaks him, just as it breaks me.
Best episode of Season 2.
Music, OST, voice acting Better than even manwha Anime did justice with this scene Also Jeju island arc finally started.
More new character introduction and as well Thomas Andre.

I fully agree with you. Beneath the flashy well animated and entertaining fights lies a story that does not compare to masterpieces like Deadpool & Wollverine you rated 10/10 on your profile.
How could anyone like the show based on the popular mahnwa with its main selling point beeing flashy fights?
Disgraceful.
Without a doubt the ANIMATION studio should have just rewrote the story to contain Tolkien levels of worldbuilding!
As we all know the ANIMATION studio is responsible for the source material as its name suggests. And how dare they make the best off what they have?!
Good one you for giving its most liked episode 1/10.

I have read both novel and manhwa and Solo Leveling anime as a whole is making up for the hype.
The fact that they cut a lot of things from manhwa and still make the anime so good is a really good job.
It is slowly building the tension in the episodes so you can understand the world and the system until there is an hyped fight --> like in this episode.
If you are a gamer then it is as it is in the games. You level, you build gear, you beat boss and again.
The fights are so flashy and godly animated that honestly i think there is not any better animated fights in the anime "world".
Some people can hate the overhype ornrotective people. But for gamers and people that like this style it is simply the best.

Just fighting, flashing lights, fast animation, etc... I get that this anime is all about that and for that reason writing will, most of the time, be a bit off.
However, episode 9 exceeded my expectations. I never thought I will find writing in Solo Leveling so well. I still don't get why this wasn't a conclusion of the anime, but I guess it just gotta live to the hype of great fights a bit more.
As for the dislike count on Crunshyroll, I really don't get that??? What did yall expect? The whole point of the show was this moment. What was the reason for disliking such a good episode? Did yall expect him to turn his mom into a shadow solider or sum?
Overall a great episode. When anime is only about fights it gets bad and boring at one point. This was a great stop point to show that Sung Jinwoo is still a human being and not an basic emotionless protagonist.
I hope solo leveling will get more of well writen episodes like this!
