This is a really sweet drama, Kim Hye-Ja is always good, I love her character in this. She's so good at this type of sweet old lady who is actually sharp as a knife. I'm also enjoying Son Suk-Ku as her husband. He's such a versatile actor and this really shows off his range.
I like the combination of silly humour and deep and meaningful drama. It's very entertaining and I'm now thinking I'd better behave myself on earth so I don't end up in hell! I feel as though it's really clear that this heaven is a stopping off point so ignore reviews that question the way it's portrayed.
I've still got a few episodes left and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in the end.

Heaven is dull; and eventually, so is this show. While I did like it for the first 2/3's, l tolerated it until the end. First, however, let me say the leads were very good, and the female first lead was excellent (note: if you get to the end, you may like her plug). People wander around flower gardens, do Pilates and tossing balls like a parent throws to a 7 year old. Big whoop. The big TV show has all the suds of "Queen for a Day" (look it up). The plot mostly involves a meandering journey of soul purification, with the only spice coming from some dogs. There is a romantic triangle, but it resolves itself in the way you might expect would happen in heaven. If I were one of the Marx Brothers, I might seriously contemplate a more interesting eternity in hell.
After the first episode, I thought, "how delightful!" The concept was new, surprising, and the characters drew you in. The people in the places feel real and believable in so many ways. Hae-sook character is layered with so many different facets and her relationship with Nak-Jun is so sweet.
Fast forward to the eighth or ninth episode, and it really started to slow down and become a bit tedious. At least for me. Glad I watched it. I would recommend watching it. The messaging questions so many cultural norms around aging and gender and religion - and it really is delightful in so many ways. 3/4 of the way through episode 12 I can honestly say, I'm glad that I am finally at the end.

Heavenly Ever After is a uniquely imaginative Korean drama that blends fantasy, romance, and comedy to explore the complexities of love and identity in the afterlife. The series follows Lee Hae-sook (played by Kim Hye-ja), an 80-year-old woman who reunites with her husband, Ko Nak-jun (Son Suk-ku), in Heaven. However, she chooses to retain her elderly appearance, while he appears in his youthful 30s, leading to an unconventional dynamic that challenges their enduring bond.
The scenes about dogs are immensely beautiful and makes you cry, must be preserved scenes, heartfelt stories and a must watch.

I am sobbing, bawling, crying. I dont care about the mistakes the Director made he is human too. People watch Squid game even tho they made a mistake?
I recommend this kdrama so deeply. A master peace. A whole emotional roller coaster but Hell might be a bit scary. Nak-yoon is just the best husband he still loves his wife even tho she is 80 💗. Can't hate her for choosing 80 even tho i wanna 😭.
Love the editing they do in the night sky and dont get me started on the Pastor he is soo funny! Him and Hae-sook have a weird but sweet friendship!!
Watch this if you're a pet lover. No explanation needed.
I dont care what other people say. Put this on your kdrama list rn.
