I love light novels, but this TBATE anime adaptation is an absolute crime against the source material. PowerPoint fight scenes. MS Paint character designs. Negative budget direction. The animation lacks any sense of weight or impact, the characters move like stiff puppets, and the art style completely fails to capture the manhwa's gorgeous aesthetic. Even basic establishing shots look like placeholder storyboards.
What's most offensive is how they butchered the story's emotional core. Pacing is rushed, key character moments get glossed over, and the world feels hollow compared to the rich lore of the novels. Did the director even read the source? This isn't just bad - it's disrespectful to fans who waited years for a proper adaptation.
Congrats, #TBATE anime - you've achieved the impossible: making me nostalgic for Berserk 2016's CGI monstrosity. At least that had meme value. This? This is just sad. Here's hoping some passionate fan makes a proper AMV tribute that actually does justice to TurtleMe's masterpiece.

This episode was extremely disappointing. The only animation that was even remotely good was Arthur's sprint and his dash, nothing more. I feel like I'm watching a webtoon. There's barely any animation of the fights, just shaky images. Extremely disappointing. Everyone was so hyped, the manhwa is one of the best, and it's just sad and disappointing that the author chose this studio, citing the producer as having already read the manhwa. It's a real shame. The anime had potential for a 10/10 rating. Its the same as in Tower of God Season 2. Its just the same as Reading the Comic, I see no difference.
As a long-time fan of The Beginning After the End manhwa, I was incredibly excited for the anime. The story has so much potential. Unfortunately, the anime adaptation so far has been extremely disappointing in terms of animation quality. Fighting scene are so bad to watch. The fight scenes lack energy and fluidity. I'm still watching. I really want this series to succeed. The story deserves a good adaptation, and I'm hoping the studio improves in future episodes or seasons. Maybe the budget or time constraints were tight early on - who knows - but I'll keep hoping they turn it around. Please, give this series the love it deserves.
I was genuinely excited for the TBATE anime since I love the webtoon and the novel. Unfortunately, episode 2 was a major letdown. The animation feels cheap and at times like a PowerPoint presentation-barely any movement, static images even during fight scenes. Important sound effects are missing, which makes dramatic moments feel almost laughable. The emotional depth of the characters doesn't come across at all because there's no facial expression or body language. The pacing is rushed and inconsistent-especially the unrealistic way Arthur is portrayed as a child. For fans of the original, this is a disappointing adaptation. Hopefully the upcoming episodes improve.
Should've known when none of their anime's were rated above 7 stars that this was gonna be horrible. I tried to keep a sliver of hope because you never know but after this atrocious, heinous, abysmal piece of animation, worse then blue lock season 2 by the way, I knew this anime was cooked. I read the manhwa like 2 to 3 years ago and even read the novel and man this is how they do the fans? This animation and art style with this stupid png slides with shaking screens is not doing this series justice, if you have the time please read the manhwa, you'll be suprised I promise. How disappointing A-cat, Turtleme should've chosen better.
