Qi yu

This is an enjoyable comedy with a good heart. From start to finish, full of laughs. The cast are great, nobody is taking themselves too seriously and we can enjoy the journey they go on. Every cast member was hilarious. I find Chinese cinema sometimes suffers from big name actors aura farming, "main character syndrome" rather than committing to an acting role (look at the Dongji rescue movie from last week for a prime example of a film being ruined by actors trying to steal the spotlight, amongst many other issues) This is the opposite, the cast throw themself into their roles, no matter how outlandish. The time period of the setting is quite nostalgic too, even for someone not from the country. The 6 is actually a great rating, a comedy can't ask for much more because there is no musical score or excellent artistry to really bump it up much more. Overall, recommend this comedy to anyone, heartwarming and entertaining.
