Episode #2.12

I had my hopes high for this second season after loving the first one. But what a complete letdown. I never got this frustrated by a reality tv in a while that i started questioning myself why i even bother wasting my time watching this.

What i cannot stomach on the most in this season is the way the players with lesser pieces are being targeted by those who have lots of pieces. The overall reliance on an alliance made the playing field so advantageous to those who have more.

If you want an optimistic show where the underdogs win, this show is not for you. Reality tv are supposed to give you a sense of escapism from the reality of real life, but this season it exactly mirrored how the society is in favor to those who are rich and if those who dare to challenge them are silenced and eliminated. Very dramatic but it ... it is what it is. Very disappointed is an understatement.

The Wrong person one in my opinion, a really entertaining season two. The show is called devils plan so I'm surprised that people didn't like them or devilish aspects of it. I thought it was brilliant so please ignore the low ratings on the last few episodes.

The whole show always has me at the edge of my seat. I love watching the dynamics even when some of the contestants annoy me I love it. Really hoping that they make a season three. I'll be interested to see where they go with it. I would've liked a few more side quests, but it was fine as it was.

The contestants were also good choices. Well, I was a little bit disappointed that some of my favourites went too soon.

This might be a microcosm of society-a distilled reflection of how power dynamics truly work in the real world.

In the face of overwhelming power or extraordinary talent, most people find themselves powerless. They are left with little choice but to bow down, submit, and become virtual slaves to the system or to those who control it.

Even when someone with a different voice-a so-called heretic-dares to rise and challenge the status quo, they are quickly and ruthlessly silenced. Not just by the system itself, but by the inner circle that surrounds and protects that power.

Caught in this structure, most people choose to survive rather than resist. They blend into the flow of the dominant current, clinging to whatever small joy or comfort they can find, even if it means giving up on true freedom or justice.

And yet, within that grim framework, I found something admirable. There were a few who, despite knowing how heavily the odds were stacked against them, continued to challenge the system until the very end. Their resilience, even in the face of near-certain defeat, was deeply moving.

Season 1 gave us a glimpse of hope-it felt like a promise that change was possible. But from Season 2 onward, that hope was steadily stripped away, replaced with a haunting sense of despair. What was once a story of potential redemption became a chilling reminder of how hard it is to change the world when the rules are rigged from the start.

I watch a lot of game shows and season 1 of Devil's Plan had holes in it but it was still quite enjoyable.

This second season though had the worst mechanics rigged to let those at the top stay on top. There's no way possible for those people in prison to win AT ALL. It just makes everything boring and not at all fun from a viewer perspective. Even the semi-finals match (color prediction game) was such a snooze.

I was so glad when I first saw the cast because they were all likeable. The games were just truly unbearable especially for those at the bottom. If they ever renew this season, they really need to switch things up.

1. Terribly unfair game. The winners and losers are set in stone from match 1.

2. The losers/prisoners, try to survive in horrible conditions (where 1 player reported to lose 3.6kg in 1 week because all she had was bread, milk, and porridge). They had two play twice a day, all of which risks elimination. The second game is a prison game broadcasted to the winners, throwing the surprise advantage out of the window. Overall, these conditions left the prisoners physically, emotionally, and mentally disadvantaged compared to their winner/living room counterparts.

3. There are no comeback mechanics in place, making the whole progression of the season one-dimensional, boring, and predictable.

4. There are a couple of players who are not in it to win and are rather fixated on keeping their holier than thou image intact, worsening points #1 to #3.

5. The winner is straight up unlikable and overall undeserving of the win as the winner was propped up by the players in #4.

I've watched all of reality shows with this kind of theme and this, by far, is the worst. Don't watch this.
