This was a great season for the bear. A majorly MASSIVE step up from season 3. Im so glad I went into this with high hopes cuz IT DIDN'T DISAPPOINT AT ALL. I loved the opening to this season and im glad that we have character focused episodes. All the actors and actresses did such an amazing job in conveying emotions. Like in 4x9 i genuinely felt sad for donna. Losing ur son in that way and thinking back reflecting what you couldve done was so heartbreaking. This episode ended off the season greatly cant wait to see whats next to come for what i think and what probably mostly everyone can agree will be the final season of this masterpiece.
For a show to make you feel like you're apart of the characters lives the way The Bear does is incredible. I understand that this season may not be for everyone, but I thought it was brilliant. Every episode was raw, emotional, and real in a way that didn't feel pretentious or forced.
The acting performances this season were phenomenal. Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri were spectacular, especially in this season finale. I honestly wasn't the biggest fan of Sydney's character at the start, but the way she was written the season was outstanding.
It sounds cheesy, but it was a pleasure to watch these characters grow over these four seasons, and Richie had my favorite character development of any show in a long time.
I don't know if people will understand this reference, but my favorite tv episode of all time is Season 4 Episode 7 of Mr. Robot (407 Proxy Authentication Required) and this episode reminded me a little of that.

This entire season seemed to focus too much on personal, internal issues. And hey, who doesn't love a little bit of character depth and development? But holy crap!! Every friggin episode this season. It reminded me of watching "The Handmaid's Tale" when I was sitting there in season 3 like, "Alright! I get it! They're terrible people! When is this story going to go anywhere?!"
This entire season was a complete flat line, not an arc. The only payoff we got this season was a good review for Marcus. That's it. It did not leave me yearning for a new season. In fact, the exact opposite. The thought that the next 10 episodes can be like this? No thanks.

This finale was essentially just three people talking to each other about their state of mind, their decision and their regres, but it managed to capture this whole journey our characters have been through since the beginning!
Season 4 was a great improvement over season 3, with a much more clear story and overall arc for our characters, especially Syd and Carmen!
Carmens journey in this season have been so inspirering! Him finally acknowledging how he has been treating everyone and how he let chaos fuel him and the food!
Both Jeremy and Ayo have been delivering their best performances in this show, this season, in my opinion! Sydney being honest to Carmen about how he has been was such an emotional tense argument! Likewise when Carmen is being honest to Sydney and Richie!
Season 2 is still my favorite but i am more excited for season 5, than I was for 4 when 3 ended!

This episode made me very angry because there were so many things I wanted to see explored and we got a 30 minute conversation. Wow I'm actually impressed by how good that was. Everyone finally being honest was really nice to see. I feel with modern writing everyone is so repressed you never get to see a characters motives and drives like this. It was refreshing to see everyone be so raw here. I'm feeling just as nervous as the characters are in this situation about what is going to happen to the restaurant but damn it really was therapeutic to just let everyone say their peace and see where their feelings intersected on the same issues. That's a heck of a cliffhanger but there is simply no way to resolve everything that is going on in one episode like that.
I like how Richie and Jessica's conversation gets referenced in this talk and how something he was just expressing gets talked about. I've honestly never seen TV like this who takes a microscope to a few characters and just gives them that much time to just exist and work out their story in front of the audience. Very cool to see.
