Audio Quality: Consistently Distracting
The audio mix is hands-down the biggest issue. Charlie Brown's solo numbers, especially the first two, sound like he's singing through a walkie-talkie. The muffled, distorted vocal quality makes you instinctively reach for your volume controls or wonder if your speakers are broken. Sally, Linus, and Peppermint Patty are even worse - their voices are so miscast that they don't sound like themselves at all. Charlie sounds too old. The only one with a halfway-decent voice match is Lucy, and even she's only almost right.
And the music is often louder than the vocals, making lyrics hard to hear - a dealbreaker in a musical. Strangely, Snoopy and Woodstock have fine audio, which just highlights how inconsistent the production quality is.
Songs That Drag Instead of Delight
While a few songs had potential, most were dragged down by either poor vocals or uninspired direction. The "I Just Can't" number nearly put us to sleep - repetitive lyrics, slow pacing, and barely any animation until the very end. And when things did pick up, another muddy-sounding Charlie Brown solo would slam the energy right back down again.
The one bright spot? The final number, "Leave It Better." It had noticeably better audio quality, strong composition, and was genuinely enjoyable. It felt like it belonged in a better version of the show - which made it even more frustrating.
Plot & Humor: Where Did It Go?
Peanuts has always leaned into subtle, dry humor and small emotional arcs - but here, the pacing is glacial, the tone overly somber, and the emotional beats land with a thud. My daughter, 25 minutes in, still had no idea what the story was about. And when a Snoopy story drags like Inception, something's gone wrong.
Even more baffling - there's barely any humor. Peanuts is supposed to be funny. Snoopy's charm, Lucy's sass, Sally's melodrama - it's all supposed to spark laughs. But here, the only chuckle-worthy moment came from Sally yelling at fireflies. That's it. Everything else was oddly serious or emotionally flat.
Animation: The Unsung Hero
Credit where it's due: the animators and artists deserve praise. The visual style is bold and playful. The color choices pop. The backgrounds feel alive. This is easily the strongest element of the production - and the biggest reason I didn't turn it off halfway through.
My Overall Take
Snoopy! The Musical had the potential to be a charming reintroduction of the Peanuts gang for a new generation. But with bad casting choices, frustrating sound quality, a sluggish and humorless script, and songs that too often fell flat, it ends up being a pretty show with very little soul.
If you're a Peanuts purist, you'll likely be disappointed. If you're trying to hook your kid on Snoopy, this probably won't do it. Save your time - and your ears - and revisit the classics instead.
"Snoopy Presents: A Summer Musical" is a proposal that stands out for its variety of elements depicted in the plot, where more than a musical, a generational message is observed in an efficient and productive manner with the purpose of raising awareness among the audience, but especially among the little ones at home. "A Summer Musical" is a proposal that stands out for its variety of elements depicted in the plot, where more than a musical, a generational message is observed in an efficient and productive manner with the purpose of raising awareness among the viewers, but especially among the little ones at home. It is a special that covers important topics, of great value, and that can foster that bond with nature, where the idea of contact with it and the recovery of entertainment spaces for children is sought to be rescued.
Everything related to their songs, melodies, animation work, colors, drawing style, script, and the essence of this little universe is well executed, where they complement each other and provide a satisfying experience. In addition to having a good balance in the development of its characters, the details for the fans of these adventures, and that level of sustainable and reflective narrative argument that stands out at all times. It should be acknowledged that despite having a simple premise, it opens a window for constructive analysis on the topics under consideration, which from my perspective was carried out excellently.
They are 40 minutes that go by super fast, you have fun, and provide decent animation for the little ones at home. Additionally, just like the special "Snoopy Presents: "Welcome Home, Franklin" from 2024 has creative potential that fosters personal growth, good behavior, and a formidable education.
Covering themes such as teamwork, innocence, new generations, the importance of nature, the restoration of entertainment spaces, legacy, good intentions, friendship, family connection or bond, contact with nature, and joy are very well depicted. On the other hand, the medium shot can have a metaphor established thru the camp, where it can refer to the natural bond or coexistence with nature, emphasizing the loss of consumers over the years, all as a consequence of technology and new parenting measures by generational parents, thus providing a social critique from another point of view.
In addition to that, the chest symbolizes the alternatives to rescue that connection at least from a youthful perspective, it can also be considered as the hope to find a solution even if it is found in the depths, adding that there is indeed strength, daring, and desire to once again foster a status that is losing power over the years. Very interesting.
That said, the only good part is the fantastic animation. So at least the special has SOMETHING to offer.
Overall, Snoopy Presents: A Summer Musical is not at all a good way to celebrate Peanut's 75th anniversary. It's really disappointing that THIS is how we are supposed to celebrate.

Positives for Snoopy Presents: A Summer Musical (2025): It was fun to be spending time with these characters from my childhood while they're at summer camp. I will give credit to the voice actors who did the musical numbers as they were really good. You still get the fun shenanigans from the characters that made us love them in the first place. And finally, the movie is short and it gets to the point in an effective way possible.
Negatives for Snoopy Presents: A Summer Musical (2025): I wasn't too big on seeing the Peanuts doing a musical as it feels out of place from them to do. It honestly feels like the people who made this movie wanted to trying something different with the characters which I can respect, but it didn't fully work out for me.
Overall, Snoopy Presents: A Summer Musical (2025) is good Peanuts movies on Apple TV that will mostly likely please fans of these characters even if it is one of the weaker entries in the Peanuts franchise.
