Snoopy Presents: A Summer Musical

Although there is definitely much worse you can experience out there, Snoopy Presents: A Summer Musical is not a good special. The story is generic, heavily Deus ex Mancha, and is so rushed to the point where it's impossible to know what's going on. The characters are bland and generic, and the songs are basically filler, and not in a good way.

That said, the only good part is the fantastic animation. So at least the special has SOMETHING to offer.

Overall, Snoopy Presents: A Summer Musical is not at all a good way to celebrate Peanut's 75th anniversary. It's really disappointing that THIS is how we are supposed to celebrate.

This special seemed to promise a lot in the trailers, I even thought this could be at least in the top 5 of the best Peanuts specials, but in the end it wasn't, although it wasn't a bad special, in fact it was enjoyable, there were things that disappointed, I'll go step by step: Story: its weakest point in my opinion, at first it seemed to already have a fixed path with Sally but I started to see that they were rushing, to avoid too many spoilers I will say that it seems like they forgot parts, it seems as if they had cut parts and showed us only the result, the same happens with CB's story, it seems as if they wanted to go straight to the point without context, and there the story just ends up being a poor excuse for the musical 4/10 Characters: I'll be picky, only Charlie Brown was the one who carried the special, Sally and her "friends" were the disappointment, they were presented as main characters, but none of them have a dialogue (and they don't even know each other, they are already friends immediately) only Eudora has 2 measly dialogues, It's funny since she was the main character in the cast. Snoopy is salvageable, but that's about it. CB's companions are just there for show. 5/10 (I give 5 for Charlie Brown).

Animation: Its strongest point is its animation is marvelous. Of all the current specials, its visuals are brutal. 8/10 (although some strange scenes and a lot of recoloring in the final sequence don't give it a 10).

Music: It's salvageable. Along with the sequence, it makes it look good, its pace is good and it doesn't make you uncomfortable 7/10 In short, it's not bad, but it left a lot to be desired, its duration was its biggest problem, I hope wildbrain learns from this special to avoid making these mistakes.

Everything related to their songs, melodies, animation work, colors, drawing style, script, and the essence of this little universe is well executed, where they complement each other and provide a satisfying experience. In addition to having a good balance in the development of its characters, the details for the fans of these adventures, and that level of sustainable and reflective narrative argument that stands out at all times. It should be acknowledged that despite having a simple premise, it opens a window for constructive analysis on the topics under consideration, which from my perspective was carried out excellently.

They are 40 minutes that go by super fast, you have fun, and provide decent animation for the little ones at home. Additionally, just like the special "Snoopy Presents: "Welcome Home, Franklin" from 2024 has creative potential that fosters personal growth, good behavior, and a formidable education.

Covering themes such as teamwork, innocence, new generations, the importance of nature, the restoration of entertainment spaces, legacy, good intentions, friendship, family connection or bond, contact with nature, and joy are very well depicted. On the other hand, the medium shot can have a metaphor established thru the camp, where it can refer to the natural bond or coexistence with nature, emphasizing the loss of consumers over the years, all as a consequence of technology and new parenting measures by generational parents, thus providing a social critique from another point of view.

In addition to that, the chest symbolizes the alternatives to rescue that connection at least from a youthful perspective, it can also be considered as the hope to find a solution even if it is found in the depths, adding that there is indeed strength, daring, and desire to once again foster a status that is losing power over the years. Very interesting.

C'mon manm Apple Morality TV (TM) now is producing Peanuts, a comic institution that has never been anything like the wide stance plasticity of the Apple sterile industrial process. That process works well enough for shiny tech objects, not as well as it once did, but is just an unabiding process for comic creativity like this. And how tortured and conflicted is the Schulz now at the helm, with irreplaceable Charles now long gone....he has given the parts over to Apple and yes it is Peanuts and Charlie Brown...or is it? I sense a slight whiff, under the covers so to speak, that every film project produced by Apple implicitly carries the Apple Defect and so something precious is lost when that happens, and they are so clueless about it makes it worse. Nothing Apple TV for me, thanks, not ever.

Snoopy Presents: A Summer Musical (2025) is a Peanuts special on Apple TV with our favorite Peanuts characters doing a musical at summer camp and it was pretty good.

Positives for Snoopy Presents: A Summer Musical (2025): It was fun to be spending time with these characters from my childhood while they're at summer camp. I will give credit to the voice actors who did the musical numbers as they were really good. You still get the fun shenanigans from the characters that made us love them in the first place. And finally, the movie is short and it gets to the point in an effective way possible.

Negatives for Snoopy Presents: A Summer Musical (2025): I wasn't too big on seeing the Peanuts doing a musical as it feels out of place from them to do. It honestly feels like the people who made this movie wanted to trying something different with the characters which I can respect, but it didn't fully work out for me.

Overall, Snoopy Presents: A Summer Musical (2025) is good Peanuts movies on Apple TV that will mostly likely please fans of these characters even if it is one of the weaker entries in the Peanuts franchise.
