"Don't watch It without family" was the warning tagline in the trailer and it's posters which attracted most. After watching the film, someone can understand why. Though it is an adaptation of "A Christmas Carol", it yet represents the soulful touch of family bondings and makes us nostalgic about 90's golden days.
Screenplay was overall good with some wonderful cameo appearances, dialogues was written with great sense of humor and there was soulful touch which made deep impressions.
Casting was top notch with lead role of Jahangir played by Jahid Hasan. His acting was so natural & facial expressions was spontaneous. Major supporting roles played by Soumya & Sadia was refreshing, Afsana Mimi, Tareq Anam, Sunehra, Dinar and Cameo appearances played by Chanchal, Joya & Aupee all carried their roles perfectly.
It was overall a great cinematic experience which will make us emotional & feel good at the end.

Zahid Hasan owns it all. The way he slipped in to the character of Jahangir is a testament of his acting caliber. For the new generation who didn't have much opportunities to enjoy his work, this will work as a great way to explore his journey.
This movie will offer you a roller coaster ride of emotions. Love, laughter, and the warmth of relations have been discussed in a very suttle way. People will have the chance to revisit the 90s decades emotion. All the major characters have been played by extremely talented actors and actresses. Roasting their own works adds different spices from time to time.
A bit of glitches here and there but you can ignore them. A great one to watch with your family. Recommended!

The title of this movie speaks for itself. It is indeed a wholesome celebration of life, its people, and all the possibilities. It will make you cry, smile, and indulge in nostalgia, all at once. A truly refreshing and unique movie; a breath of fresh air compared to all the typical movies these days. It is also a bridge between the old and the new generation.
Zahid Hasan plays the role of Jahangir, an elderly, grumpy man living alone. Disliked by his entire neighborhood for his bad manners, his life suddenly changes when something unexpected happens.
Honestly, the less you know about the movie, the better. Go and watch this movie in the theatres. And don't forget to take your family and loved ones with you.

How to describe utshob? Let's say, this is a piece that brings silence. That let us stop our time for a moment. Let us pause for a moment, review our own lives, and rethink our own choices. Utshob is not just a movie; it was an experience. When I was in the hall, I was not just watching the movie. I was shuffling through my memories, the choices I made on my own life, the regret I left behind. What could I have done differently in my life? What could have changed? What could have been made better? Would it shift things differently? It would take you down through your memory lens. It fills you with regret and perhaps leaves a bittersweet taste in your mind.
But the movie answers the question itself. Once, one of my friends said, "The best part of loving someone is letting them go." Like Jahangir in this movie, holding onto his past, his memories, his losses, and perhaps love for his ex-wife, Jasmine. The movie gave a complete experience through Jahangir's decision to let it go and live in the present. He was perhaps a flawed character, a person with limitations, but that made his character meaningful, more humane. He is perhaps just like all of us.
The best part of Utshob is perhaps its ability to stir up our minds. I have seen people leaving the hall while crying. They were of all ages. Whether it was empathy towards the movie or themselves is a question to ask.
I will recommend this movie. Watch it.

Hats off to the director, cast and producer of Utshab for making such a heart warming, feel good movie. Among all non sense actioned packed movie released during Eid, this was like a fresh air. Perhaps one of the best movie made by any bangladeshi film makers during last 10 years. It's pity though it did not get much attention initially. Hope those who watched and liked this movie will promote about this film so that people are encouraged to watch it in big screen. Though people mostly appreciated Zahid hasan and other senior actor's performance, actors like Sadia Ayman, Soumya also performed very well.

- TriviaIn the final scene where Chanchal, Jaya Ahsan and Aupee Karim are talking with each other, the scene was shot on top of Hatir Jheel Management Building. Hatir Jheel bridge, Hatir Jheel lake, construction of Dhaka Tower and Navana HR Tower was visible in the background in that scene.
- ErroresThe night when Jahangir got married, Jasmine asked him to play chess with her. Though white plays first, Jasmine already had two (!) black pawns moved while no white pieces were moved.
