I never thought I would be lucky enough to watch a film like this in 2025. I didn't feel dull at all for a single moment while watching the film. I felt like I was somewhere in the story.
So biased by the acting of Zahid Hasan, Chanchal Chowdhury, Sadia Ayman and Afsana Mimi. The choice of words, dialogues, moments, cinematography are all on point. There was no single flaw. Many thanks to Tanim Noor for making such a film. Making Hollywood-style films also requires talent, which not everyone has. If he makes more such films, it won't take long to make history. Also, this can be a message for our generation that cinema is not just about action and and ripping heads off or copycats, sometimes you need to vent through laughter and tears and intimacy.
I think every diplomatic and open-minded person who wants to find themselves in a new way should watch this film. I really liked it.

Just watched Utshob, and honestly, I wasn't expecting to be this moved by a Bangladeshi film - but it completely surprised me in the best way. It feels completely original.
Zahid Hasan nailed it in the lead role. I've seen him in a lot of dramas, but this was on another level. His performance felt real and raw. Jaya Ahsan, Chanchal Chowdhury, and the rest of the cast were amazing too - no weak links at all.
Visually, the film looks great. Cinematography, music, even the sound design - everything felt polished. And the message? Simple, powerful, and very relevant: money means nothing without compassion, community, and connection.
In short, Utshob is heartfelt, honest, and beautifully made. It reminded me how powerful our local stories can be when they're told right. Highly recommended - especially if you want a movie that makes you think and feel.

It's not easy to make a grown man cry, laugh and emotional at a same movie. The script is witty as well as heart touching. It feels like experiencing the moments of ones own life. The worst part is when you realize that the movie is going to end.
Storytelling is like a roller coaster ride. One moment you are relaxed and laughing at your seat, the next moment will take you to the edge of your seat. Choice of music is nice.
Casting is very thoughtful. The link among characters transits the movie so smoothly that there is never a dull moment.
Ear popping applause for the Director, script writer and the artists. This movie will remain as a classic 👌.

The title of this movie speaks for itself. It is indeed a wholesome celebration of life, its people, and all the possibilities. It will make you cry, smile, and indulge in nostalgia, all at once. A truly refreshing and unique movie; a breath of fresh air compared to all the typical movies these days. It is also a bridge between the old and the new generation.
Zahid Hasan plays the role of Jahangir, an elderly, grumpy man living alone. Disliked by his entire neighborhood for his bad manners, his life suddenly changes when something unexpected happens.
Honestly, the less you know about the movie, the better. Go and watch this movie in the theatres. And don't forget to take your family and loved ones with you.

This is a quite decently done film adaptation of Charles Dickens' timeless classic "A Christmas Carol". Kudos to the script writing team for adapting the story in such a mannner that incorporated the cultural shifts in a believable & convincing way. With mosly quite popular & familiar faces, the casting was great for a Bangladeshi film where Zahid Hasan on the lead perfectly cast as the cold-hearted miser, Jahangir Scrooge [😁]. Both Soumya Joyti & Sadia Ayman maintained a warm screen presence through their moving performances in their respective roles. Absolutely loved those little emotional punches near the end that the director, Tanim Noor orchestrated pretty nicely. As it exceeded my expectations, I'll surely look forward to check out his future projects.

- TriviaIn the final scene where Chanchal, Jaya Ahsan and Aupee Karim are talking with each other, the scene was shot on top of Hatir Jheel Management Building. Hatir Jheel bridge, Hatir Jheel lake, construction of Dhaka Tower and Navana HR Tower was visible in the background in that scene.
- ErroresThe night when Jahangir got married, Jasmine asked him to play chess with her. Though white plays first, Jasmine already had two (!) black pawns moved while no white pieces were moved.
