I know people were SOOO excited to check in on the cast of season 4b. I also couldnt wait to see what sam could do to possibly redeem how he wrote some of the characters. But if you told me who was in charge of writing/directing this episode, i wouldnt have even thought about watching this episode early for even a milisecond. No offense to florence chappell, but hes def not cut out for any canon story driven episodes like this.
Yes, sam may have started his writing the same way, but it makes me think that nobody on the team actually cares about these characters that much.
The only character that got anything really good to do at lot, was loser, but there really couldve done something else good with anyone else. A lot of characters kind of just exist, and go through motions, and none have anything interesting to do.
Theres a scene that couldve been something, but its not the focus. It mostly feels like a short, but thats not a good thing for a canon episode. I wanted to make an actual video about my problems with this episode, but if the team isnt gonna try with these characters, then neither will I.
That being said, everytime they referenced the random montage from bfb 26, at the same speed each time, me and my entire family jumped for joy.
That being said, there were some things i really like in this episode, that being the animation, the loser segments, and the very ends with its many classic cliffhangers that we might actually see resolve
Overall, pretty fun for this shows previous standards, but man this writing is the most let down writing this show has had, 4/10.

This episode was really confusing and I wished it just could've been more. Honestly just skip until like 24 minutes in if you don't want filler. Worst part is that this aired at VidCon to a live audience and was hyped up because of that and then it's just boring.
**SPOLIERS PAST THIS POINT. DONT READ IF YOU HAVENT WATCH THE EPISODE.**
I hope the ending with Four looking at the One research actually means something because that's probably one of the only things this episode could build up. Also Blocky winning retrieving the card and getting nothing is SO lame. I hope TPOT 19 and its "big changes" have more than this episode cause TPOT 7-10 and 13-17 were absolutely PEAK.

I'm not really big on giving criticism on BFDI but this episode was just really not worth a spot in TPOT or the show, so here I am. To start, this episode is just super contrived with the whole memory thing because they just make up rules as they go along. They say stuff like "People in the memories can't get hurt" and then proceed to burn down said people in a fire. The episode is also just really confusing, I had no idea what was happening throughout 80% of the episode, and the concept itself wasn't really complex either so I'm not really sure what was going on. Honestly the whole idea of "BFB 31" was stupid and this episode should've just been a slice of life thing with the post-splitters. Lastly, the characters in this are just not enjoyable. They either get basically no screen time, are flanderized, or got their 6 year arc kicked and spat on. For two positives, some characters like Taco and Lollipop were pretty enjoyable since they were some of the only characters given actual attention, and the post-credits scene was also good. I think it'll lead into TPOT 19 very well but as a standalone episode it's really bad and should probably be skipped if you watch the show.
This episode has absolutely no reason to exist, other non competition episodes like BFDIA 13 and TPOT 11 actually add to the show. BFDIA 13 fixes some parts of the timeline and TPOT 11 leads up to the EXIT rejoin in TPOT 12. I hope this ends up being relevant to TPOT 19 because for now this episode is just complete filler. Match, Ruby, and Bubble should've gotten way more screentime and their "arc" was so underwhelming. Everything was super confusing and all over the place. I was also bored out of my mind watching this, I was constantly checking to see how much time was left every few seconds. Probably the worst episode in the entire series, there might be worse ones in Season 1 but I REFUSE to rewatch season 1.
