This is pretty bad an insult to Jason and Friday the 13th as a whole this just a bland advertisement for apple orchard alcoholic cider and even though it subtle it still a disappointment like how Jason is this skinny guy in a hockey mask with no menace at all. I just feel bad for the Friday the 13th IP since it just a marketing gimmick at this point with the HHN house to this ad it feel like no one cares anymore ,ore it just sad at this point.
This is not what we have waited since 2009 for, if this is what they are planning for Jason and future films, we are not looking good. The score was about the only good thing on this film, I get it's a short film and won't have a big budget for effects, but this also made no sense with what they did with the main character.
Please please please get back to the F13th movies we grew up with. It's an easy formula, drunk and horny teens, sex and lots of death, it's not really that hard.
And please get a Jason that can look the part, a menacing presence, one who can pull off bursting through a door and showing exceptional strength when dismembering his victims.
You have had enough time, get this right for future films and upcoming TV series please for the love of Jason!!

Ok, it's not as bad as i was thinking it would be but this type of movie (slasher) can't or almost always can't be (or SHOULDN'T BE!) crammed into a 13 minute short.
I do give this short film credit for having music that is OVERTLY Harry Manfredini-ish (some parts seemed to be bordering on copyright infringement-ish). But the music in this majorly helps the film in every way. As much as i love the 2009 reboot F13, i do wish they had brought Manfredini in to score that film (or at least use music in it similar to this short film's music).
Ally Ioannides who plays Eve in this short film also played Tilda in "Into The Badlands"!! I've adored her ever since that show!
Big question, why didn't Jason kill her if he actually did pull her under the water?
Oddly enough Jason is hardly even shown in these 13 minutes. Lol.
And why did she have 2 major black eyes when she came back to the campsite (or why was she sporting the Ricky Raccoon/"smokey eyes" eye makeup look? Lol).
Lastly there should have been at least one or 2 more onscreen kills. I think there's only 1 on screen kill (that i do admit was pretty cool!). But again, an F13/Jason projects SHOULD NOT BE A MERE 13 MINUTE SHORT FILM. It's a waste of IP and character, etc.

Jason hasn't graced our screens and 16 years, and his grand return is a glorified comercial. It's insulting to both the legacy of Jason and the fans who have put up with Sean S. Cunningham and Victor Miller's BS. A speedrun of a Friday film that makes no logical sense, has next to no story, not a single character to care about, and only feels like an authentic Friday film for about 1 minute of its 13 minute runtime. The effects are decent and some kills could have been fun if they showed any of them on screen. When Jason finally makes an appearance, you're greeted with a short, skinny man in an abysmal mask who seemingly takes joy in at least one of his attempted kills. I'm all for a smart, mean, resourceful Jason, but not at the cost of creating a guy who isn't killing for the wrong reasons (and without an intimidating build in the slightest). His costume looks good, but his small stature and terrible mask completely ruin it. The music throughout the film feels like stock music except for whenever a somewhat messy variation of the original scores play and the ending is highly questionable. Overall a huge (but expected) disappointment that borders on insult. I would've rather had Jason stay dead than star in a Angry Orchard commercial. The only place he needs to be is on the big screen, preferably with a team who actually cares about this franchise and not just money.
Director writer Mike P. Nelson' offers just over fifteen minutes, The Jason Universe: Sweet Revenge wastes no time delivering carnage with stunning efficiency. The practical gore and effects are executed with impressive flair, making the most of a tight budget to deliver visceral, blood-drenched thrills that fans of the slasher genre will appreciate.
Lead actress Ally Ioannides (as Eve) brings compelling strength and presence to the screen, guiding the chaos with control and charisma. She anchors the short with a proactive, emotional core that elevates the body count with real stakes.
Stepping into the hockey mask is Schuyler White, who delivers the kind of physicality and menace worthy of the franchise's legacy. His movements have the weight and deliberation of classic Jason, making him a fitting heir to the role's long tradition. Incidentally, Chris Carlson's Harold oddly gives Robert Englund vibes.
While the short doesn't have the gritty VHS feel, or film grain, it harnesses that original Jason ambiance with purposeful pacing, shadowy menace, and well-timed scares. There's a modern polish-akin to the 2009 Friday reimagining-but the spirit of the early films pulses just beneath the surface.
Nods to the franchise are peppered throughout-from familiar kill setups to sly narrative references-enough to feel like a loving wink to long-time fans. Add in a couple of clever twists, and you get a sharp little narrative that still manages to build momentum.
The finale hits you with a cliffhanger of sorts, leaving plenty of room for speculation and appetite for more. And then-the end credits roll to Sugar and Spice's 'I've Changed' an ironic and fittingly twisted choice that underlines the film's playful tone.
For fans of Crystal Lake carnage, Sweet Revenge is a brisk, blood-soaked treat - a short that understands the rules of its universe and plays with them just enough to keep you hooked. Well worth checking out.
