The dialogue from Layla and the Editing in this episode bring down the quality of the episode immensely.
It just seems like Layla as a character serves as a vehicle for the plot to explore Mark's past. Since she really isn't given any proper depth or dimensionality to her whatsoever in the past 2 episodes - outside of her being Mark's wife n all that. She just kinda appears whenever the plot needs her to be and I found it to be quite jaring whenever she'd just show up with the map to get the characters (And Audience) to the specific set piece. That goes with Harrow too.
The council scene in a vacuum was held up so well by Oscar Isaac's and Ethan Hawks incredible acting. It just doesn't help that it seemed so contrived to put these 2 in the same room together again when they're mean't to be miles apart.
The beginning of the episode I thought had a really solid start - just through the hindsight of knowing of the 3rd alter ego, It feels as if they played their cards too early in foreshadowing him. Which gave me the thought that this episode honestly could've been the 2nd season's premiere episode. The first 2 episodes were a great set up to get us to Cairo. But it just fell so flat by the editing and elements of the writing.
I just couldn't help but notice the feeling of unpolish in the episodes editing. Like it was a first or second draft compared to the first 2 episodes. Which honestly brought down the quality of the episode when I started noticing more lazy and rushed parts of the editing. All the B roll for the people running away during the jousting/sarcophogas fight scene was just dumped on us not even within a second of frametime.
Good premise, bad execution in the long run. Maybe it was the directing, but I found this episode to have some beautiful shots and compositional elements. The eclipse was a standout moment. Yeah you could tell it was color corrected, but the color correction was actually really good. Which leaves me wondering why the rest of the episodes editing was bad??
Though I did really enjoy the scene where Konshu and Steven turned back the stars, I found it to be as effective as it could. Though I can't really argue with the common sentiment of just using a constellation app on the Ipad. I'd still prefer this scene regardless.

Season 2 has yet again shown its rushed pacing, this whole episode felt like it was 2 episodes merged together to reach its standard runtime.
Episode 3 ended with what felt like decent build up to a climatic battle that the season has been building to. But it ultimately decided to shoot itself in the foot with underwhelming reunions, action and character deaths.
Despite this, the episode remains engaging - But seemed to struggle with what it wanted to accomplish. Feeling like 2 episodes stuck together.
The underwhelming, messy "attack" on the nest ended barely even half way through the episode.

I'm not the biggest fan of Zach Snyder but omd this blew me out of the water. The characters, animation, voice actor and the gorgeous score. Honestly really loved this series and rewatched again in the same week.
The story and the characters just work so well with each other, and it does such a good job personalizing each and every character. I was invested in every plot point.
The series exploration of Norse mythology and Ragnarok is artist but also mildly engaging to watch.
The sex scenes are over abundant and kinda unnecessary. Episode 6 being the weakest one. But It still didn't take away from my enjoyment.
Honestly. Give this series a watch, it is not perfect but it's also not as bad as these ratings are making it out to be!
