Before getting to the review, I'd like to share some trigger warnings that weren't at the cinema nor at the beginning of the movie, for anybody who might need them.
TW: Addiction, mental health illness, abuse, flashing lights.
Please do not watch this movie if you've been through or are sensitive to any of these triggers, and you aren't in a safe or stable place. It can be extremely triggering.
- A movie that is worth being watched, if not for the story, for its music. The soundtrack is beautiful and unique. I love the way techno and edm are played in the most unexpected places and moments, and how it alternates with calm and suggestive music.
The movie is delicate, and yet so painful to watch.
Rona moves from the countryside of Orkney to London for her masters in biology. She works in a lab, but her life quickly changes as she falls in love with a man and with alcohol. The story flows in a non linear way between London, Orkney and folklore stories. It follows Rona's highs and lows, from pubs and clubs to home and AA meetings. Until she finds her true passion and a cozy corner of the world that is able to heal her.

Look Back is a debut anime, and yet it already connects with some of the masterpiece of Japanese animation.
A coming of age story, Look Back tells the story of two kids sharing the same dream. Complex feelings such as jealousy, competition, friendship, codependency, social anxiety, ambition, grief and trauma are told in such a delicate and genuine way.
Watching this movie made me feel very nostalgic, thinking about my dream as a kid and how self critical we are towards ourselves. In some moments, it reminded me of Your Name and 5 cm per second by Makoto Shinkai, even if the art style is completely different.
I can't wait for this anime to become widely available, 100% recommended!

As other folks said, not the best piece of cinema nor the movie of the year. The topic and story have a lot of potential, but it fails to go in depth and develop. On the plus side, I think it's a movie that we need. An average movie to normalize abortion, not a documentary nor hyper dramatic approach.
Things that I liked:
Things I didn't like:
Things that I liked:
- aesthetic and photography
- very good portrait of how a woman feels in a room full of doctors
Things I didn't like:
- the superficial approach
- the lack of disclaimers that abortion needs to be performed under medical supervision
- the lack of resources as it's a great opportunity to share with people how to find a doctor, clinic or support group
- too politically correct.
