Sheldon Cooper's Religious Ignorance/Mary Cooper's Religious Ignorance
This series is one of the best comedy series I've seen recently, with high-quality jokes, an interesting plot, and relationships between the characters.
But... Sheldon Cooper, one of the main characters in the American TV series The Big Bang Theory, is portrayed as an extremely intelligent yet socially and emotionally inexperienced physicist. A defining trait of his character is his absolute trust in science and his almost radical skepticism toward anything related to the supernatural or faith. For this reason, he often demonstrates a form of religious ignorance, characterized not only by a lack of detailed knowledge but also by an indifferent or even ironic attitude toward the subject.
Sheldon views science as the only true method for explaining the universe. His thinking style is based on logic, mathematical precision, and empirical evidence. Therefore, religious dogmas appear to him not only unconvincing but also irrelevant. Despite this, he lacks deep knowledge of religious texts, traditions, or history - a gap that sometimes makes his arguments against religion superficial and primarily rooted in cynicism.
In Sheldon's family, religion played a significant role, especially through his mother, Mary Cooper, a devout Christian. During childhood, Sheldon was frequently exposed to religious teachings but quickly developed a critical stance toward them. His early experiences were twofold: on one hand, he was familiar with religious practices; on the other, he distanced himself from them because he could not reconcile their claims with scientific reasoning.
For Mary Cooper, Christianity is a way of life inherited from her family and environment. Her faith is firm, but she rarely seeks to deeply study or analyze biblical texts or doctrines. This approach means that religion in her life functions more as a set of cultural and everyday practices than as a profound philosophical teaching.
Mary's religious ignorance manifests in several ways: Selective knowledge - She may recall certain Bible verses or stories but often lacks the full context or precise meaning.
Personal interpretation - She frequently explains religious rules in ways that suit her daily life, sometimes diverging from official doctrine.
Superficial defense of dogma - For Mary, the correctness of her faith does not require additional evidence, so she rarely entertains alternative perspectives.
Mary's religious ignorance becomes especially evident in her interactions with Sheldon. His strictly scientific approach and demand for evidence often expose the gaps in her arguments. However, Mary remains steadfast in her beliefs, often relying on humor or emotional appeals to avoid engaging in deep theological debates.
Mary Cooper's religious ignorance does not indicate weakness of faith - on the contrary, her belief is strong but superficial. It is grounded more in tradition and personal experience than in academic or theological study. This trait makes her character more realistic and relatable, as such an approach is common among many believers in modern society.

Some people asked me: "Was this movie as bad as everyone says?"
My answer is yes. This movie was absolute garbage, The script was terrible, the dialogues were meaningless and stretched, the performance of the actors was very bad.
And who the hell thought of casting Dakota Johnson in the lead role anyway? She is one of the worst actresses.
I have seen all of the marvel movies since "blade" and this was the worst one even worse than "Daredevil" and "Elektra" movies.
I thought "Morbius" was bad but after watching this, I realized that "Morbius" wasn't that bad.
Don't watch this movie, waste your time on something else.
