We are back again with another one of these dinosaur movies, which never seem to run out due to the money they collect. This movie decided to stray away from the previous movies' plots, citing little to no references. The plot was really a mess. While I thought that using DNA samples from dinosaurs to cure diseases and being on sea were interesting, the rest was your typical incoherency from the past two movies. They also shouldn't have included that family subplot. Having them felt like a mess and felt like they were just there to prolong the movie. It's clear they are running out of ideas.
All the characters are so forgettable. I easily forget their names aside from Xavier since they kept mentioning him, particularly the dad (Reuben) and the girlfriend (Teresa). I did really like Dr. Loomis. He was the one character who was done well. They made him be this great nerd, which I really liked. Him talking about how science was for everyone was also nice. Aside from him, the rest were your typical mercenaries, villain included.
I also felt the CGI to be a downgrade from the previous trilogy. It seems to not impress me as past Jurassic Park movies do. It feels really disappointing.
Jurassic World: Rebirth is another shameless cash grab that feels more like a rehash than a rebirth. It does nothing to improve the franchise other than provide opportunities to add more rides for the theme parks, while making you feel like this franchise should have long been fossilized.

Before this movie, the Mystery Inc. Media had always taken a light tone. This film tackles the mystery with a darker plot and a scarier mystery to be unraveled. Letting the characters not unmask people and actually having a supernatural mystery was one of the film's biggest strengths. Although, I would say some of the Scooby and Shaggy being clumsy sequences could have been trimmed since they keep using these sequences to unravel the mystery. The mystery solving was pretty fun, though. I think they do a better job than some actual films.
The characters are now all adults, which I wished we saw more. They are also at their best. Unlike the abysmal modern interpretation, we have classic Velma solving mysteries here for fun while also being compassionate to her gang. The romantic tension was great between Daphne and Fred. I just wished we got more scenes featuring their relationship. Of course, Shaggy and Scooby are the funny guys, and they don't miss with their comedy here. The other side characters were also really fun.
It also features fun and memorable songs, which are so beyond the expectations of a direct-to-video film. You hear the screeching of an owl. You hear the wind begin to howl. It's terror time again.
It's easy to see why Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island is considered the best Mystery Inc. Film. It features the characters at their best, a killer soundtrack, and an interesting plot. It takes the characters to uncharted waters, while still making subsequent and modern media chase its greatness.

This film is about characters being involved in a triad and the consequences of being in it. It realistically portrays the consequences of how it affects the said people joining and the people they care about. This is one of the main themes. The other is about forgiveness. We see the relationship between Ho and Kit and how the first theme affects this one.
One thing I wish was done better was the amount of exposition that was present in the film. We barely got to know the characters, what they have done, and who they are. While some of these were revealed in some of the scenes and dialogues, I wished for more to be added since I felt the pacing was a bit fast. One reason I felt this was how quickly the timeskip felt as we see Shing getting quickly promoted.
The action was really good, though. It isn't too over-the-top, was entertaining, and is well-edited.
All the cast were good, but Chow Yun-Fat really stood out. The way he would be smiling then turn his face to anger or sadness is truly commendable.
A Better Tomorrow is a good action film that features both great style and substance. While it needed more exposition for our characters, it features great themes, action, and characters, resulting in a well-deserved action classic.
