At first glace, it seems like it's directed towards the wrong age group. Take out the swearing, it's a great inspirational children's show about pursuing your dreams along with the determination and effort it requires. In retrospect, it also goes into the regret of what happens when you hesitate or second guess yourself. Some people might enjoy it, but in my opinion, I consider it a waste of an english dubbed anime. This could be a premature review but based on the first two episodes and overall manga plot, I don't see it being anything more than a show that should have been directed towards children and suited for a pg rating. Will update if proven wrong in the next two episode.
I wanted to like this anime. The plot and overall concept is intriguing. However, I've tried watching it several times and find the protagonist absolutely unbearable. The main character is an ignorant, oblivious, self centered, moronic, irrational, idiotic crybaby with no common sense or self awareness. Basically, he is comparable to a chicken flailing about to get it head cut off then starts over without reflecting on previous experiences and heads in a completely different direction, still flailing around, hoping to randomly stumble upon a path that doesn't lead to death. Towards the end of the first season it started to seem like the character was beginning to develop and learn how to use his ability to his advantage but no. He just cries about it, irrationally does something completely different, and then cries again for it not going the way he wanted. Finally gave up watching this a few episodes into the second season. I find it astounding that people can not only tolerate this but even find it entertaining.
The anime starts off great with likeable character personality traits, a bit of intrigue with relationships and chemistry, desirable circumstances, and mysterious background history. Typically I don't care much for anime that doesn't incorporate some sort of fictional aspect. However, I did find this one to be quite enjoyable. That is until I realized nothing happens throughout the entire second half. There is no big reveal, mystery solved, accomplishment of any sort, nor any real notable progression in the protagonists relationship with the heroine or general storyline. Can't see how or why this got good reviews with the entire second half amounting to nothing.
