It was an OK episode. Much better than the last one. Visual effects were great in this episode! I still don't have a feeling there is a much progress to the main story. Saru got sidelined again in this episode, rest of the crew doesn't seem important and Cmdr. Burnham saved the day. It's a standard recipe for every episode.
It looks this season could be even better than the first one! Star Wars sequel trilogy was a big disappointment and this show makes it look even worse.
This was a very weak episode. There are only 13 episodes in this season and there shouldn't be a need for bad filler episodes like this. I don't know how they managed to make this to be a 50 minutes episode. Whole story could have been told in 10-15 minutes. Half way through the episode I started checking time every couple of minutes.
Also, did the Starfleet lower the bar for becoming an officer? If feels like majority of the crew doesn't behave like Starfleet officers.
