I get the low reviews for this movie. To a film buff or someone looking for a traditionally good film, it lacks a lot..
That said, I liked it. It's fun. It's unrealistic, has some decent action, and a few scenes that'll make you laugh. No, it isn't Citizen Kane, but it's mindlessly entertaining.
My biggest gripe is the casting I guess. I love Kevin James, but as a super skilled fighter/assassin? Eh. And why does the daughter look older than the mom? It doesn't work because of how 'teen mouth off' the character is supposed to be, and feels odd. Surely they could have found someone younger...

Let me start by saying that "sovereign citizens" are among the most annoying and bizarre people on the planet.
That out of the way, this movie is really well done. This isn't so much a movie about those people you see clips about on social media, but about a struggling father. Rather than admit or deal with his failures, he turns to alternative laws and definitions to justify why he's right.
It's actually a really poignant movie about the struggles of the everyman. In that way it's a bit scary to think about. Acting is top notch.
Be warned - this is not a feel good movie. It's gritty and real. At its best neutral, at its worst downright depressing.

This movie does little more than prove that Tim Robinson is a one trick pony. Being homely and uncomfortable to watch only works so many times.
While his show sometimes bounced between comedy and discomfort, this one stays far, far in the latter. There's not a laugh to be had, only awkwardness.
Skip this turd.
