                  America: A Tribute to Heroes

                  6.7 (1K)
The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences' annual Governors Award goes this year to four networks - ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC - for setting aside commercials and competition to organize "America: A Tribute to Heroes" after the attacks of September 2001. In a groundbreaking and unprecedented way, it was originally four networks which came together as one, sold the idea to their corporate bosses, underwrote the cost of the telethon and lined up all of the other networks and cable stations to simulcast "America: A Tribute to Heroes" That telecast helped bring our nation together and showed the world that we were united and still standing strong during a time of utmost tragedy.
