    Best Arab Film

      Winner

      Heritages

      7.4 (166)
      Philippe Aractingi
The winning film is remarkable for its ability to move audiences and portray, with great effectiveness and sentiment, the problem of emigration from the point of view of the people involved. For its original way of treating history, with excellent use of collage and mixed techniques; for the feeling of closeness and empathy that the family creates in viewers as it tells its story, and of course the fantastic role played by the director's little girl. With all of these ingredients the film manages to create a sense of hope and to explore without exaggerated harshness what is certainly a very dramatic topic.

      6.7 (1.2K)
      Geethu Mohandas
For its original and successful use of the standard road movie genre, with a solid formal structure and its ability to generate multiple interpretations. The film creates a unique group of characters who appeal to audiences beyond cultural and geographical borders.

      Winner

      Chilla

      6.2 (60)
      Saodat Ismailova
For taking on narrative risks using an original proposal in which all of its elements are essential for the configuration of the story and the development of the characters. With great formal audacity, the film creates a sensory experience that goes beyond the traditionally visual, making silence, historically attributed to women by patriarchal societies, an eloquent silence, not a silence of resignation.
