After a brief stint making films for his own Independent production
company, veteran studio director Yuan Chiu Feng returned to Shaw
Brothers at the behest of movie mogul Run Run Shaw to helm the
production managing operations vacated by his predecessor Raymond Chow
who left to start up his own, the cross-town rival Golden Harvest
studios in Hong Kong during early 1970.
