As a sophomore at Kalamazoo College, he once tackled his hero Sam Raimi
after Raimi guest-spoke to the film students. Was invited to work on
"The Quick and the Dead" but turned it down because he was too studious
to drop out of college.
Today's filmmakers have about a 5 years headstart before everyone else
catches up and makes competitive work. That is, in 2010, everyone will
truly be a filmmaker, not just call themselves one.
