He was awarded the BEM (Order of the British Empire Medal) in the 2023 King's Birthday Honours List for his voluntary service to Falklands War Veterans. He is the Co-Founder and Life Vice President of the South Atlantic Medal Association in Blackwood, Gwent, Wales.
