As a female director, you bring your life experience to every moment of the filmmaking process. I'm a mother, a wife, and a woman who cares passionately not just for the project, but for everyone involved in making it-both cast and crew. I worry about them, I cry with them, I laugh with them at every opportunity. Being told, over and over, that my film is ambitious doesn't faze me. I know what it means to everyone around me-it can't be done. To me, it means I have to work that much harder to meet my deadline and make a feature film that is superior in every way. These are the words I speak every day in production: Information and Communication. Meat then Gravy. If time, Dessert. When it gets tough, bring The Dutch.
