C.K. is mentioned in the book "Sniper One" by Sgt. Dan Mills, which chronicled the protracted months long battle in Maysan Province, Iraq.
He was an original team member of the Counterterrorism Training Center (King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Center - KASOTC) in Jordan.
He is the nephew of famed WWII hero Wyatt Butterfield, who with nine other sailors survived the torpedoing and sinking of the USS Juneau, subjecting them to 8 days of survival at sea before rescue, recorded in the book "Left to Die". Over 700 Sailors and Marines were lost to include the 5 Sullivan Brothers.
