"Gerg" (technically "Gergory") is actually his legal name. His parents intended to name him "Gregory", but due to a misspelling by the government employee who typed up his birth certificate, "Gergory" was legally recorded. No one noticed until he was in his teens. Thinking it hilarious, Gerg decided to keep it as his legal name... though his parents still opt to pronounce it "Greg".
