A Wife with a Secret

There are no wives and there are no secrets in "A Wife with a Secret", an all-sex video from director Holly Randall. It is typical of a new wave of crypto-story Adult films, in which there is no story, only a pretend one contained in packaging, liner notes or advertising.

So Holly has hired top femme talent, made sure the proper effort was expended in the makeup room and costuming/styling, then shoots them humping five gents softly but explicitly, as if some magical alchemy would turn this into a Couples/Romance. No, it isn't quite that easy.

In the absence of a script or even an outline, what results is lukewarm, boring sex footage, strictly generic. Many touted directors today, such as Mason, Greg Lansky and Axel Braun in his "All Sex" labeled stuff, are guilty of this bait and switch.

Sophie Dee is my favorite and looking fine here, though in search of a role to play. Her segment is labeled on screen as "The Women of Holly Randall", meaning it must have been compiled from some other generic Randall series and tacked onto this pointless project.

The only other point of interest was a quasi-reunion (not really since they do not appear together on screen but merely share this DVD in separate segments) of Lisa Ann and Sara Stone, who made a formidable "big-up-front" team in Nica Noelle's "Naughty Neighbors 2" some years ago. That one had some story material and acting going for it, not the mindless pantomime pawned off on an unsuspecting audience here.
