So you reported my review and got it removed.
Is that what an open minded creative person does these days when someone hits them with facts about their product, you just delete them or get them black listed. Nicely done Alice!
I stand by my words and I will say them again. Go ahead and report this one too or get all your crew and friends to give me a thumbs down because your ego is bruised.
Shame on you!
I will say it again, you cannot write nor direct.
The fact that the same person wrote and directed this film is painfully obvious, as it suffers from the kind of tunnel vision that occurs when no one is there to challenge poor creative decisions.
The lack of collaboration between writer and director, which could have brought balance and perspective, instead results in a project that is both poorly written and incompetently directed. It stands as a cautionary tale for anyone who thinks they can handle both roles without sacrificing quality.
Writers are specialists in the craft of storytelling, focusing on plot structure, character development, and dialogue. Their role is to translate abstract ideas into compelling narratives, which requires a deep understanding of language, pacing, and thematic coherence. When a writer stays within their domain, they can focus exclusively on creating a rich, layered script without the distractions of the technical and visual elements that directing involves. By narrowing their focus to writing, they ensure that the script is polished and capable of standing on its own, laying a solid foundation for a director to bring that vision to life.
Directors, on the other hand, are visionaries tasked with interpreting the script and translating it into a visual and auditory experience. They have to manage the technicalities of lighting, camera angles, set design, and actor performances, all while maintaining the integrity of the story. The director's expertise is in orchestrating these elements to create a cohesive film or production. This requires different skills from writing, such as managing large teams, making split-second decisions during production, and understanding the complexities of visual storytelling. When directors focus solely on directing, they bring out the best in the material provided by the writer, elevating it to its full cinematic potential.
