SOLID WWII STORY ABOUT PARTISAN'S STRUGGLING TO SURVIVE

A boat load of survivors from the war escape the fighting in a boat that breaks down. They hold up in a ruin while the boat is repaired. Soon a German patrol boat arrives and the usual tense fighting and interaction takes place, ending in a sea battle. Actor Richard Harrison plays an American Sargent who is caught up with them as they escape. In the copy I have, everyone speaks German and Yugoslavian but Richard speaks only English. He is sort of along for the ride and does his part in the conflict.
