It isn't hard to understand why this strange film is not commercially available, as it's content will surely make some people uncomfortable. On the surface, "Little Flames" appears to be some kind of fantasy film, like some adult version of "Time Bandits." Like that film, this story is about a little boy who has fantastical creatures living in his closet, that only he can see; there is Godzilla-like dinosaur, and a goofy robot, and a somewhat demonic Troll-King, who seems to be the ringleader. The viewer is left to decide whether these creatures are imaginary friends, or rather different manifestations of the child's disturbed mental state. For these creatures are far from harmless; they like to do nasty things, like set fires, and burn people alive. If this description sounds weird, that's because this is a VERY weird movie. It is also incredibly unique and imaginative. I think the movie might be more well-known, however the strange, erotic elements involving a young child, prevent this from reaching mainstream audiences. Recommended for those looking for something completely different, and patently strange; trust me, you have never seen anything quite like it...
