Caruga

"Caruga" is one of those movies I caught on SBS when I was a kid and always remembered it, and wanted to watch as an adult. It's less memorable to me now that I've just seen it, however. I didn't really follow the story. The direction is dull, very pedestrian, and the main actor who plays the eponymous role seems miscast.

The movie has a pretty high body count, but no graphic violence I can remember. It also has quite a bit of incidental male nudity, and a few bare breasts.

I wish I could have followed the story a bit better. Caruga, the titular character, is apparently a real historical figure. This movie really failed to bring him back to life.
