- AnecdotesNo English subtitled - therefore titled - version has been released: therefore, since the original country of issue Finnish title translates literally into 'Oh my word (God), there's now quite a market going on' (!) is an idiom intended to mean something unpleasant going on that would be better soon stopped - therefore, could help to guide as somehow like (as old UK Ealing comedies) as (perhaps = suggested): 'What a Palaver!'

Heikki Lilja is a senior lieutenant who's in love with the colonel's daughter. The colonel is a real hard-ass who can't even stand if somebody's pocket isn't buttoned.Nor can he stand anybody, who's not at least a captain, date his daughter. And Lilja's pocket isn't always buttoned, so colonel Taipale says he wouldn't be surprised if he showed up in his pyjamas. And the next day he finds he is in his pyjamas, when he has to drive his mother to the bus in a hurry. And he hits the car where the colonel is in.He decides to run. They think this man in stripes is the escaped convict Kustaa Akseli Korpinen, also known as "Kahle-Kustaa".Lilja goes to the hotel where his friend, artist Pertti Paaso is.While he goes to Lilja's place to find his clothes, Kustaa goes to the hotel room and steals Paaso's clothes, and identity. He gets real close to Paaso's pen pal Merja Metsä.There's a real mess that has to be fixed- in a way or another.Johan Nyt on Markkinat! (1966) is the last feature film directed by Aarne Tarkas (1923-1976).It represents a more modern military farce.Esko Salminen gives a terrific and most hilarious performance as Heikki Lilja. And so is Kauko Helovirta as Pertti Paaso.Helge "Heguli" Herala is brilliant as "Kahle-Kustaa".Liana Kaarina does a great job as Merja Metsä.Uljas Kandolin is amazing as Colonel Taipale.Leo Jokela is very funny as Police chief Mäkinen.Leni Katajakoski does a great performance as Kaisa the cleaner.Jarno Hiilloskorpi and Ismo Kallio are hilarious as those two officers.Great job by Elsa Turakainen, who plays Lilja's mother.Pia Hattara does a terrific performance as Ikäneito.Rose-Marie Precht portrays Annikki.Leo Riuttu does his last feature film performance as Affu.Martti Palo plays the colonel's driver.Keijo Komppa is Kalle.Aarre Karén plays Lieutenat.Director Tarkas himself plays Driving man. There are many great moments in this movie. It's hilarious when Lilja gets into the hotel and the woman finds this man in the same bath with her.Or when he's hiding in the same room with the just married couple. Also when Paaso is at Lilja's apartment and those two officers arrive. He can't tell them the truth so he gets arrested, this man known as "Tiirikka-Pete".Most funny is the sequence when Lilja portrays a sheik and Paaso speaks to him in a language that sounds Arabic. But it's gibberish, of course. Many laughs come from the situation when those two men have to prove which one is the artist Paaso- by drawing a girl at the well. The real Paaso's style represents some modern art, which the policemen and the colonel can't understand, but it looks to them more like something a child has drawn. But the simple work by the crook, where you can actually see a girl on a well with a bucket, works for them. They make an auction for the work, and Colonel Taipale gets this masterpiece for 300 marks.Watch this movie and laugh.
