Sessions of Love Therapy (1971)

A psychologist invites four couples to a love session where he is going to teach them how to express and explore their sexuality. All four couples are struggling in their relationship due to a sexual issue so the doctor plans on teaching them how to fix it and move on.
"White coater" was a term given to porno movies that avoided prosecuted by being passed off as an educational picture. In 1969 the Supreme Court ruled that I AM CURIOUS (YELLOW) wasn't pornography because of it being education and this here pretty much opened the flood gates for various producers to make hardcore pictures but in an educational way. MAN AND WIFE and HE AND SHE were just some of the "educational" pictures that were released to exploit the law as well as people's appetite to see hardcore sex.
SESSIONS OF LOVE THERAPY is one of these movies and for the most part I found it to be rather entertaining. The structure of the film is pretty simple as we're introduced to the doctor, then the patients and then we see their sexual issues and how they work on them. At the end of the film the four couples once again show their progress by having sex on a yellow bed. That's pretty much the entire movie but it actually works quite well and in fact I've always enjoyed this sub-genre.
This one here also benefits from having a familiar cast, which includes Suzanne Fields, Sandy Dempsey and Rick Lutze, which of course means Rene Bond is also on hand. Hey, those are four out of the eight sex acts so what's not to enjoy? At 87-minutes the film actually never overstays its welcome and in the end it's an entertaining picture.
