This is a Kannada language film on the life and teachings of Madhavacharya, the renowned teacher and philosopher of the Dvaita school of Vedanta.
The film is an authentic, honest and complete depiction of Madhavacharya's life and teachings. It also depicts his mystical experiences, his efforts and works and a gist of his teachings. Well edited and around 2.5 hours which is perfect for this great man's life who was closely associated with the Udupi Shree Krishna temple and Matt.
The actor playing the Acharya's role is well cast. Madhavacharya was known to be a large built and strong man and the actor fits well into the character. His performance gives one the feeling as if in the presence of the great saint himself.
Full credit to GV Iyer on this masterpiece. Kudos on the casting and direction. He got these aspects perfectly in the trilogy which includes Ramanujacharya and Adi Shankaracharya also. Somehow the film on Swami Vivekananda didn't hit the mark and came out as amateurish.
That aside, I would recommend this film highly. Only downside was that I could only find it on YouTube, and that too without subtitles.
