It is bad news that Susie Gharib is leaving without explanation. Tyler Mathison has a very abrasive, grating presence. Susie smoothed things out a lot. I fear for the future of the show with Tyler as the sole anchor. I enjoy the down to earth nature of the show. I didn't understand why Tom Hudson and the other staff were let go when CNBC took over. I was happy that Susie Gharib was retained. I generally like CNBC, but I think Tyler Mathisen is a poor choice as host. Maybe they will bring in other CNBC staff, but few CNBC staff have the class and gravitas of Susie Gharib. The larger question is why CNBC wants to run a show on PBS. I thought the previous ownership was doing a good job, but maybe they weren't making enough money. It would be interesting to know the motivation for CNBC taking over.
