Filmmaker Nicholas Steele made a dozen or so features around 2005/6 that didn't get wide distribution on video (DVD) until several years later after he had become the Big Cheese at Britain's Bluebird Films. This minor entry is built around a fictional Cooking Network TV series and emerges half-baked.
It features frequent and annoying "station breaks" as filler, announcing that we're watching TV 69, some lousy cable channel. Hammy Evan Stone and pretty blonde Jacey Andrews co-host a cooking show, with Evan trying out a game-show concept of chef couples competing for a big prize.
One couple, Donny Long and Vanessa Lane as "Jack and Jill" cheat and end up losing the contest, which seems to be rigged against them all along. Steele and his co-writer Red Velvet (who handled many crew chores besides) have come up with a nothing story to set up the six sex scenes, and the film creates no involvement whatsoever -no edge, suspense, nothing. Even the minor hook of a competition is downplayed toward nonexistence.
Lame final vignette is integrated sort of into the story but feels tacked on, as show's low-level crew members Natasha and an actor billed simply as The Drifter get it on on the set after hours. That scene like the preceding XXX content, is just filler.
When Steele is firing on all cylinders, as he did for several classic films for Adam & Eve at the turn of this century, he represents must-see porn, but in throwaway features like this one he reveals his feet of clay.
