When a lack of words says it all

A couple spends their days trying to find their daughter. She went missing some time ago and has never been seen by anyone. It is clear that their relation has been stressed by this - they hardly talk at all and when they do it's painful. No wonder the both of them are more often going their own way than that they are doing things together. Defining the cold truth of a broken family this film is somewhat slow but the pace matches the setting of the film flawlessly. Anything other than this speed would have broken the film. As things go by one can only feel an intense sadness for the couple - and the hope that one day they will be able to return to normal.

Films like this lay a heavy load on their audience, pressing a most painful message onto the retina with a heavy mallet. It's a very bitter pill to chew down on but also a very intense experience that will change peoples awareness of people that really have to go through things like this, something that can only lead to some more understanding for whatever odd choices they may make. This film plays out very well on many levels. It matches the story it wants to tell, it matches the emotions of its participants, it matches the title it comes with.
