I have been playing the game for 8 months now and this game has by far the biggest potential I have ever seen among MMORPG games. BUT
a game with the worst PVP balance I have ever seen.
I really don't understand how they managed to achieve this. The developers must have the will to damage this game to achieve this.
I'm an 8 month old player and I play 60% Pvp and 40% Pve. Without any exaggeration Pvp is extremely terrible because Range weapons are extremely powerful and the devs still apply intense buffs to range weapons instead of nerfing them.
Fire Staff weapon, Bow weapon are incredibly powerful, we can even call it the ultimate OP.
Damage, defense, mobility are incredibly high, there is no balance. In fact, this game has lost a lot of players because of this imbalance. The number of players lost is over 30k. This is a very serious number. And no action is taken even though other players are complaining about this situation.
In fact, I want to tell you something very funny. 1 month later New World will switch to season 3 and they are changing almost everything. And guess what is not changing and even being strengthened? ......... Yes, yes, yes, that's right. Of course Range weapons. LoL. And this time range weapons are 2 times stronger 😄 😄 I tried PTR (public test realm) and it's really bad all melee weapons were already weak and now they are even worse.
Before the update the job of melee weapons was to chase Range weapons that they could never catch. Even if they caught them they couldn't kill them because they had very low damage.
In season 3 melee weapons have no mission because they will be useless because they can't do any damage. This is really tragicomic.
I don't think I will play season 3 unless there is a serious change in Pvp before season 3 arrives. I definitely won't play it, it's just a waste of time and money.
My suggestion to AGS is this: whichever developer is setting up Pvp (a guy named David, judging by people's reactions). I suggest you really get rid of this person. If this person is the person who sets up Pvp. If it is a team, definitely change that team immediately. Because they are really bad or they have really bad intentions..
