American filmmaker Chris Roland spent the lockdown in South Africa by himself. Prior to the lockdown Chris volunteered to foster a dog from the local animal rescue shelter DARG. Rather than wait until - whenever - to get back to making films, Chris decided to shoot Hearts - A Lockdown Tale on his own, with he and the dog the only two characters. Chris wrote, directed, shot, art directed, edited, and mixed the film on his own using whatever was available at his house. He used a Canon 700D, a GoPro, one small LED light, a ladder as his stand-in, and string and Prestik for focus. The editing, color grade and mixing was done on Davinci Resolve.
