Martin Scorsese joined forces with French star Gaspard Ulliel to present him as the then new face of Chanel, in this wildly and intense ad. Ulliel plays a famous
movie star who gets distracted by a mystery pretty woman during a press conference since she looked exactly like a person from his past. Flashbacks show the other women and
the countless romantic moments they had. As soundtrack, a Rolling Stones song of which we all know Marty is a big fan.
The original full version is a masterpiece in filmmaking and also a masterpiece in the field of ad. Cinematic, visually striking and there's beauty everywhere, and
ultimately Ulliel was a knockout, great face and presence for the brand - he made a couple of other ads for them as well. Yet the edited version of the commercial was that
caught my attention since it was a frequent thing on TV, but they cut the whole introduction and the flashbacks and go right after his one-liner and that magnificent walkout
that makes a special thing in the place. Simply extraordinary. 10/10.
