Archived newspapers report that the plot of this special involved host Red Skelton taking a tour of Hollywood Boulevard and meeting several stars as well as Red's characters. George Raft was discovered standing in his own footprints at Grauman's Chinese Theater; Frank Sinatra, accompanied by several girls, was seen at Puccini's Restaurant, which he owns; Dinah Shore was viewed singing in an auto show room (remember, her sponsor was Chevrolet); and Bobby Rydell was featured singing in a music store. Much of this program was taped between midnight and 4:00 a.m. to avoid crowds but dozens of folks showed up anyway.
