Anecdotes
The idea to create The Shitizens came from a conversation Sy Shanti had with child-hood friend Booda Monk, a Hip-Hop activist and artist based in the ATL. When discussing projects Sy shared with Booda that he was thinking about doing a (serious) documentary about how emotions are passed through bile and how that could use that to alter mindsets. Booda, always quick witted and rarely passes up an opportunity to bring levity to serious topics blurts out, "You should make the shit talk" and burst out laughing. Sy, still in serious mode asks him what he meant. He said, "If somebody real mad and take a shit, the shit could be a character and start talking and being mad too!" Boom, Sy burst out laughing and says..."Yo! That could be a whole animation series about talking shit!" ...and The Shitizens & Sewerville was born.
